Ebury is a UK fintech founded in London in 2009 by Juan Lobato and Salvador García Andrés, specializing in international payments, FX risk management, multi-currency accounts and trade finance for businesses expanding globally.

Banco Santander became its majority shareholder in 2020 with a 50.1% stake for £350 million, while Ebury kept its own brand and leadership; the company now employs roughly 2,000–2,400 people across more than 50 offices in over 30 regulated markets, handling close to 140 currencies.

Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

Own two domains/subdomains (Pricing & Reconciliation), setting the 0-6 month technical roadmap.

Work with two teams of senior engineers to ensure architectural consistency.

Accountable for the reliability, availability, and security of the systems.

Ensure all systems have appropriate support, SLAs, on-call rotas, and documentation.

Delivery Management

Responsible for the delivery of two teams, planning sprints, and overseeing project health.

Assess the criticality of unplanned work, minimizing context-switching and unnecessary pressure.

Instill urgency to find balance between velocity and quality.

Ensure all incidents are owned.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Act as the primary liaison between engineering and product, partnering with counterpart in product to ensure full alignment.

Communicate progress and escalate issues effectively.

People Management

Lead TWO teams, managing engineers (6 + 2 people) of varying levels and creating stability for the group.

Responsible for managing the performance and well-being of the teams, initiating corrective actions when needed.

Provide coaching, performance reviews, and career pathing (People Revolut).

Create a culture of ownership and feedback.

Process and Performance

Ensure that company processes are effectively and timely executed.

Accountable for team KPIs (velocity, quality, on-time delivery, morale, staffing).

INTEGRATIONS
Different integrations of liquidity providers such as NIUM, split the monolithic application into microservices (pricing-service, recon), and create new features for the platform.

MONITORING
Setting up different logging & monitoring systems in the current architecture: Datadog, Sentry and LinearB.
